So in reality Mac's are actually cheaper because they last longer, work better, look better, make you happier, and are more useful for creative purposes. When she gets her iMac I'm going to turn her G4 into a web server and I'll get a few more years out of it. She still uses that computer every day to create art. I bought a Power Mac G4 for my Mom over 10 years ago and she's just now upgrading to a new iMac. In fact my MacBook Pro is running just as well as it did when I bought it if not better due to OS X improvments. ![]() Conversely my MacBook Pro is heading into its 3rd year and I've still got 93% battery health. ![]() My last Windows laptop, a Dell, was dead in 2 years with the battery dying in the first 6 months. So too with Macs and even not so cheap Windows machines. I can also buy a Corvette for significantly less than a Porsche Carrera 911 but I'd much rather have the Porsche. you can build a pretty god windows 64 system for a fraction of the cost of a Mac Pro.
